Manatees in the Lowcountry

Manatees have been spotted again in the Lowcountry, up on Shem Creek in Mt. Pleasant as reported in the Post & Courier.   These sightings have become more common in recent years.   The SC DNR has documented the increased frequency of  manatee sightings and also has a page on the their website where sightings can be reported.   If you see a manatee, please report it.   If you can possibly get a picture as well, that would be great.   It not only helps verify the sighting but can also help in identifying individual animals.
